Who are we?

We are the Minnesota Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (MNRPCV) Toastmasters Club.  We are a community club open to everyone — returned Peace Corps volunteers and those who never served in the Peace Corps. We welcome guests and new members at any time!

Toastmasters International is an educational organization dedicated to helping its members develop and improve their communication and leadership skills. As an MNRPCV Toastmaster, you will have the opportunity to improve your speaking, listening, and leadership skills in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

Our club has an international flair. While many of our members are returned Peace Corps volunteers, not everyone served in the Peace Corps. We are a great fit for people who love traveling and learning about other cultures and languages.

Why Choose Us?
The MNRPCV Toastmasters members are recognized for efficient and supportive meetings and our strong speech evaluations. Our club gives feedback that will truly help you grow and develop as a public speaker – whether for personal or professional enrichment.

All members work at their own pace through Toastmaster projects, giving prepared speeches when ready.  In addition to prepared speeches, there are chances for every member to practice communication and leadership skills at each meeting, including impromptu speaking and feedback giving skills.

DayaWhat should you expect?

We meet the first and third Thursday of each month for two hours. We follow the Toastmasters model for effective meetings:

-  Each meeting is led by a member serving as Toastmaster for the evening

  • -  Two to four members give planned speeches
  • -  For each speech, an assigned member evaluates the speech in a short
  •     presentation
    • -  Those listening to the speeches provide brief written feedback
  •
  • Another portion of the meeting provides an opportunity for brief extemporaneous speeches — in other words, a chance to practice thinking on your feet.

See the Public Downloads for a sample meeting agenda.
